Will Anderson Jr goes Back to the Draft!

Will Anderson Jr. is back at the draft, but this time in a different capacity. Just a year ago, Will was wrapping up his time at the University of Alabama and eagerly awaiting to see where his next journey in football would begin. Fast forward 365 days, after being drafted by the Houston Texans and having a standout rookie year capped with the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, Will Anderson is back at the draft. This time, he's shopping at the Klutch Athletics by New Balance Pop-Up Shop. We caught up with Will to dive into his journey from draft hopeful to Defensive Rookie of the Year, and explore his unique take on fashion and personal style. Plus, get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Klutch Athletics pop-up in Detroit, where Will gives us a tour, makes custom t-shirts, and has candid conversations with Klutch Athletics founder Rich Paul.

Fit Check:

Before hitting the pop-up, Will gave us an exclusive sneak peek into his outfit of the day. He sported the freshly released Klutch Track Suit: Klutch X NB Knit Track Jacket & Pants, effortlessly paired with the Klutch X NB Short Blue Sleeve T-Shirt. “And for all the hypebeasts,” Will added with a playful grin, “I got the New Balance 1000’s that I’ll be kicking today with my outfit.”

Will’s enthusiasm for the tracksuit was contagious as he emphasized its incredible versatility. “You can literally wear it everywhere – to the plane, the crib, on a date, out... it's an anywhere type of tracksuit,” he explained. His excitement made it clear that this wasn’t just any outfit; it was a lifestyle choice, perfectly blending comfort and style for any occasion.

The Ride Along

During our ride over to the pop-up, we talked to Will about how it feels to be back at the draft. “Being back at the draft, man, it's just a full 360,” Will said, reflecting on his journey. “I was just here last year, I went through my rookie year, got Defensive Rookie of the Year, and it's a blessing.” He went on to talk about his college teammates in this year’s draft, expressing his excitement for them as they prepare to hear their names called. Will recalled the anxiety he felt last year about the unknowns of the draft – where he would go and what the future held. His main hope was to land somewhere where the coaches and players were supportive and welcoming “Now I feel way different. I’m more relaxed, I’ve been traveling, life’s been great. Finally got an off-season now,” he said with a content smile.

Outside of tuning in to see where top prospects will land, fans are also buzzing about what they’ll be wearing. Draft day fashion has become a spectacle in its own right, and Will Anderson Jr. did not disappoint last year. He recounted his unforgettable outfit – a sharp light blue pinstripe suit with a heartfelt tribute to his grandmother on the inner lining. The ensemble was perfectly accented with his "Terminator" chain and socks, a playful nod to his alter ego. In a twist of fate, his stylish suit ended up matching the team colors of his new organization, the Houston Texans, making his draft day look even more iconic.

Will Anderson on Personal Fashion:

Shifting the conversation, we discussed Will’s personal fashion sense. Will describes himself as someone who is “very lowkey, but very flashy at the same time.” When asked how he would describe his style, he said, “It all depends on my mood.” Even when he opts for something more casual, it still needs to have that “yeah, he got it on” effect. Will wants his fits to convey that he’s a calm, cool, and collected guy, but his outfit doesn’t match his laid-back personality. “Although I’m very calm, I still don’t shy away from throwing on a piece or two that garners attention,” he explained.

The Pop-Up

Once we stepped into the Klutch Pop-Up in Detroit, Will took us on a whirlwind tour of the freshest Klutch Athletics gear, unveiling the very first New Balance football cleats set to make waves in the upcoming season. As we mingled, Will graciously entertained media interviews with ESPN, shedding light on his exciting journey with Klutch Athletics and New Balance. Amidst the buzz, he even whipped up some personalized Klutch tees and shared a few laughs with Klutch Athletics founder Rich Paul.

With a grin, Will jokingly revealed how his teammates are always hitting him up for New Balance swag in the locker room, mimicking their eager requests, "Can you get me these, can you get me these?" It's clear his fashion-forward influence extends beyond the field, sparking envy among his peers.

The rest of our time at the pop-up was a mix of photo ops, autograph signings, and just kicking it with the Klutch x New Balance crew.
