Just days before the draft, we had the chance to sit down with Marvin and dive into his latest venture with New Balance, his passion for fashion, and his thoughts on the upcoming draft. Plus, we got a firsthand look at his New Balance billboard right in the heart of Detroit, Michigan!

Before the big reveal, Marvin gave us a sneak peek into his outfit of the day. He was decked out in the New Balance Hoops Crewneck paired with the brand new New Balance 1000 sneakers. The look was topped off with a New Balance Cargo Bucket Hat and Tech Knit Sweats, perfectly blending comfort and style that New Balance is known for.

Marvin Harrison on the Draft:

During our ride to the billboard, Marvin shared his emotions leading up to the draft. “It's a blessing to be here, to walk across the stage, shake the commissioner's hand, and embark on a new journey in your football career,” he said, with a grin of excitement. “Once my name is called, it's going to be such a relief, knowing where I will start my new journey, the new team I play for… for hopefully a long journey.”

“In big moments like this, some things that keep me grounded is just being with my friends and family really… enjoying the process with them. Like I said, you only get to do this once, so I just want to enjoy as much time as I can with them,” Marvin added.

Reflecting on his draft outfit, Marvin compared it to his dad's, Marvin Harrison Sr. "My draft fit was kind of last minute…but I am happy with what I chose. My dad's draft fit, he was home for his draft…so I don’t know what he had on, but I think we definitely have two different styles. He’s got the old guy style… I'm a little bit more stylish than him.”

Marvin Harrison and New Balance:

Shifting the conversation, we discussed Marvin's excitement about becoming New Balance's first skilled position endorser in history. Marvin couldn't hide his enthusiasm about his partnership with New Balance. “I'm super happy to be with New Balance! I think the partnership we decided on and connection that we had throughout this whole process, and getting to know those guys has been great.”

“Some of my favorite pieces from New Balance are definitely the shoes. They have the best shoes in the game, in my opinion. I see everybody wearing them…they’re most comfortable, really popular in Philly,” Marvin shared. “My favorite ones will probably be the 2002R, and then the 9060s are up there, and obviously the 1000 as well.”

Marvin Harrison on his Fashion Sense:

Talking about his personal style, Marvin said, "From a fashion sense, I would describe myself as someone who is pretty simple really, the colors may be a little loud but I really just like to keep it simple, not do too much and really just be comfortable with what I'm wearing if anything.“

“One word for someone to describe my style… that's him, that’s just who he is as a person….that embodies who he is,” Marvin added.

Having a billboard in the draft city was a big deal for Marvin, allowing him to leave his mark and inspire the younger generation. “It's really a dream come true honestly to be able to see yourself up there representing a brand that you really love…I want to be able to set an example for the younger generation and inspire kids that are younger than me to chase their dreams and New Balance allows me to do that.”
